Daycares are great for employment and shelters always needs more volunteers. 🙂

There’s lots of different routes. There are animal behavior degrees you can get but also accumulating experience and hands on training by working with dogs in general is very very helpful.r/BeforeNAfterAdoption - Joker dog was a bait dog for i don't know how long. it amazes me from the moment I met him all he needed was love to heal.

By started at a doggy daycare I was trained with the basics and slowly learned more and more about behavior and pack dynamics during my time there. I then trained directly under one of the behavior specialists at the daycare, lots of puppy handling was a bonus haha on the side I volunteered at a shelter and was exposed to abused dogs for the first time. From there I combined all my experience and sought out a rescue for dogs who were victims of abuse. Volunteered there for awhile, got hired to payroll and eventually had enough experience and knowledge to work one on one with the dogs to rehabilitate them for adoption 🙂r/BeforeNAfterAdoption - Joker dog was a bait dog for i don't know how long. it amazes me from the moment I met him all he needed was love to heal.

it is VERY helpful to have a degree but not completely necessary if you are committed and have enough experience under your belt. My suggestion for a first step would be to just get into the industry however you can so you can get some hands on experience and decide from there if schooling is a route you’d like to go.
